BEING A MEMBER of Ballet Austin Guild offers many opportunities to make the magic of dance a reality.   Through  fundraisers, educational programs, and other special events, we work together to achieve our mission to support and promote the interests of Ballet Austin in greater Austin and the surrounding communities. 

THE GUILD PROVIDES a way to be a vital part of Ballet Austin, a company known nationally and beyond for its innovative blending of classical and contemporary dance.

BALLET AUSTIN offers Guild members many opportunities to make the magic of dance a reality. Through  fundraisers, educational programs, and other special events, we work together to achieve our mission to support and promote the interests of Ballet Austin in greater Austin and the surrounding communities. 

GENERAL MEETINGS, often accented by special venues and guest speakers, offer an informative, social format for focusing on current Guild activities. 

AS A MEMBER, you will enjoy many attractive benefits in appreciation of your support, including the satisfaction of being part of the community of ballet enthusiasts.  Memberships in Ballet Austin Guild begin at $75 per year.  Benefits and Membership Categories are listed below.

2010-11 MEMBERSHIP CATEGORIES & BENEFITS

Active Members
Benefits:
  • First-time subscribers purchasing a full season subscription (four- or five-show series) will receive one companion season ticket.
  • Ticket seating priority through Ballet Austin’s box office.
  • Opportunity to meet the dancers and other patrons.
  • Special conversation style programs with Ballet Austin Company members.
  • Opportunity to view working rehearsals and attend Studio Spotlight.
  • Invitations and advance notice for Ballet Austin special events.
  • Subscription to Ballet Austin newsletter, Find Your Center, and the Guild’s newsletter, En Pointe.
  • Age 35 and under active members offered discounted membership dues.

Requirements:

  • Pay annual dues.
  • Attend General Meetings and Guild functions.
  • Participate in each of the following 3 categories:
    • Work 3 shifts at Guild Gift Barre (2 for the Nutcracker and 1 other).
    • Serve on one WOTT planning committee.
    • Serve on one standing committee.
    • Complete at least thirty (30) hours of service each fiscal year in areas of educational programs, fundraisers and special events.

Supporting Members

Benefits:

  • Includes all benefits of Active Member.

Requirements:

  • Must have completed 2 years of active membership.
  • Pay annual dues.

Life Members

Benefits:

  • Includes all benefits of Active Member.

Requirements:

  • Only includes those that are current life members.
  • Pay annual dues.

Dual Members

Benefits:

  • Includes all benefits of Active Member.

Requirements:

  • Includes spouse or significant other of active or supporting member.
  • Pay annual dues.
  • One or both of the Dual members may fulfill the Guild’s requirements.

Dues paid between January 1 and the day before the March general meeting are 50% of the established rate. From the March general meeting forward, dues are 100% to be applied to the following year’s membership.
